In Denmark around Easter we have a special tradition of sending each others so called “gækkebreve” (the best way to translate that into English would probably be “secret snowdrop letters”).
Even though it’s mostly a children’s thing I remember the tradition fondly. The letters start with “Mit navn, det står med prikker...” (my name is written in dots) - and dots are exactly what’s on my and everyone else’s mind at the moment.
Big polka dots, smaller graphic dots and all kinds of coloured dots has been the biggest ongoing trend for the last couple of years. And it continues. Dots can both be playful and classic and are therefore the perfect fit to any wardrobe.
A small tip is to keep the rest of the styling quite simple when using dots as an element in your outfit.
Dots tend to steal the focus in a look - so keep the colour palette around the dots quite simple and without too much mixing of other prints for a modern and classy look.
However, dotted styles go well with clean colours if you’re brave enough to try out mixing and matching. I personally love the combination of dots and pastel colours!
Happy Easter, everyone!
