Although, I’m always a bit sad when summer is over, I must admit that autumn is such a beautiful season that calls for wardrobe makeover as well.

At the beginning of autumn, I like to get my wardrobe sorted by doing a big detox: Out with the old, in with the new! This is the perfect way to create a clean slate and a make solid wardrobe foundation, not forgetting to add new and trendy favourites.

This season, I have a thing for pleats, which is such a versatile fabric. I’m very much into the pretty Vimable dress, which I was lucky enough to wear with bare legs last week because of the mild temperatures. However, when it gets colder I’d definitely keep wearing it over a pair of skinny jeans or tights.

Next to that, I’m a sucker for the whole shirt-with-a-twist-trend. The pretty Vimiles shirt has become an instant hit of mine. It has a cute frilled detail and a velvet lace around the neckline, which makes it look kind of Parisienne chic. I admit, to have a soft spot for anything French. French women, we are told, seem to be happier, sexier and cooler than the rest of us could ever hope to be - and of course, more stylish!

So, to sum up my wardrobe detox: Clean up your closet. Invest in some versatile pieces you can dress up or down - or that you can use for layering. And lastly, when buying new stuff, it never hurts to go for a little Parisienne chicness; simple, cool and effortless modern. That’s the way I would do it. How about you?
