It’s time to get out the glitz as the party season is upon us - and there’s no excuse not to dress to impress. Read on in our series, VILA Crew, to find out the answers to VILA’s Marketing Assistant Anna Domino Johnsen’s party ensamples - which are sure to get you noticed under the mistletoe. Anna is currently relocated to our office in Antwerp; a city which prides itself on belonging to the top of the international fashion scene.
The first thing you should know about me…
I am a competitive person and I hate to lose. I can also be really funny.
My day starts with…
Breakfast! I am always super hungry in the morning.
The reason I love what I do is…
I learn something new every day and I’m working together with some super skilled and inspiring colleagues. And then I’m currently living in the country of chocolate and waffles. What’s not to like about that?
My style moto…
Wear what makes you feel confident, comfortable and happy. When you feel good, you look good.
My party tips on what to wear…
A dress and high heels - simple, but it works. This season I would go for a red or green dress or one in velvet. I am also into this season’s glitter trend. For instance, a glitter top paired with jeans and high heels to make the outfit more festive.
My go-to place in Antwerp…
The big shopping street the Meir. It’s a 5-minute walk from my apartment and the VILA office which is nice, but also so bad for my credit card. I also like to spend time with friends and eat greasy Belgian food at Frites Atelier. Here you can get Belgian fries with toppings like Flemish stew, truffle mayo, hot peanut sauce with crunchy peanuts and much more. Mouth-watering, right?
Christmas “hygge” - does that count in Antwerp?
Of course, it does! I look forward to lots of hot chocolate, waffles and ice skating. However, the Belgians are not Christmas-crazy like we are in Denmark, so they wait until December 6th to put up all the Christmas decorations around the city. A little too late if you ask me.
New Year’s Eve is coming closer. How to get ready for a fantastic 2018 kick-off?
Start well in advance. There is nothing worse than standing in front of the mirror 10 minutes before leaving without makeup and not knowing what to wear. Team up with your best friends, have lots of fun, drink mojitos and join other parties later in the evening. It’s always fun to meet new people.
Favourite way to spend a sunny Sunday?
My favourite Sunday would include lots of delicious food. I would go for Belgian waffles with strawberry and chocolate for breakfast, exploring Antwerp city and do some shopping in the afternoon and then eat Belgian fries from Fries Atelier with my friends in the evening.
Three things I dream about laying under the Christmas tree?
A mobile clothing steamer, a trip to Bali and a New Year’s Eve dress from VILA in a coloured velvet.
